  • Course description: AEC Daily: A Brave New World: The Future of Kitchen Design for the Environment

    This course explores what issues a luxury kitchen designer must address to create a sustainable kitchen. We’ll discuss how manufacturers design and fabricate sustainable, high-end kitchen appliances and how designers can make choices that improve energy efficiency, decarbonize their designs, and support the circular economy while creating a high-end aesthetic.

    Explain how luxury kitchen design and appliance specifications can contribute toward building decarbonization and meeting carbon caps.

    Describe how sustainable kitchen appliances are designed using Design for Sustainability (DfS) methodology to reduce their life-cycle environmental impacts.

    Explain how luxury kitchen appliances drive technical innovations that improve energy efficiency, durability, and recyclability.

    Identify circular economy and low-carbon appliances and products.
