Course description: CEU Events: Creating Healthy Environments with Advanced Paint Technology
This course provides an overview of sustainable design and the creation of healthier environments with architectural paints. Included are discussions about the components of paint; VOCs, independent testing methods and standards; categories of LEED®; and the specification of paint systems.
Learning Objective 1 Discuss sustainability and its impact on socially responsible GREEN design.
Learning Objective 2 Explain what a volatile organic compound is, and what the growing concerns are.
Learning Objective 3 Discuss the evolution of advance technology in paint and coatings.
Learning Objective 4 Describe various industry testing methods and standards used to certify “green” products, and how these standards are referenced and used by LEED.
Learning Objective 5 Identify the factors for specifying a paint system.
Learning Objective 6 Identify and discuss future trends in sustainable design and paint technology.
