    Water and moisture intrusion can affect everything from a building’s structural durability to its indoor air quality. Understanding the material options, installation, and testing criteria for high-performing weather-resistant barriers (WRBs) can help specifiers manage present and future moisture concerns.

    Discuss the effects of moisture and air intrusion on building durability, thermal efficiency, indoor air quality (IAQ), and the health of building occupants.

    Analyze how weather- and air-resistant barrier selection and installation affect moisture management and the building envelope.

    Define testing criteria for high-performing weather-resistant barriers.

    In terms of performance, evaluate the importance of surfactant resistance, draining bulk water, and proper installation of weather-resistive barriers.
