Course description: AEC Daily: Commercial Sectional Door Systems
This course takes the reader through the world of commercial sectional door systems and their performance characteristics and includes a discussion on how to specify the correct door for your application. Strength, durability, energy efficiency, sound transmission, safety, security, and aesthetics are all important considerations in the selection of a sectional door system. There are many choices of doors and options but, in general, there are four main categories of commercial sectional doors, with variations in each category.
Describe how different types of commercial sectional doors and openers used in various applications contribute to the health, safety, and welfare of building occupants.
Demonstrate how to specify sectional doors for various applications depending on specific project needs, such as security and efficiency.
Define the various options for the operation of commercial sectional doors, such as motor operators and track configurations.
Explain the various additional options available that allow commercial sectional doors to be functional, thermally efficient, and aesthetically pleasing.
