DATE: UPON REQUEST
This program will explore various design parameters in gypsum underlayments and floor/ceiling assemblies including sound performance, fire resistance, aesthetics and installation methods. Case studies will be used to demonstrate design options, solutions, and trade-offs based on the chosen parameters.
Learning Objective 1 To understand how to correctly design a floor/ceiling assembly that meets the UL requirements for a fire rating.
Learning Objective 2 To learn the three most common construction mistakes that cause a properly designed floor/ceiling assembly to lose its fire rating.
Learning Objective 3 To understand the key factors in a floor/ceiling assembly that must be included in order to meet Section 1206 for STC and IIC sound transmission.
Learning Objective 4 To understand various methods available to improve STC and IIC sound transmission beyond the building code minimum.
