As the older generations decide how to spend the later years of their life, many are deciding they want to stay in their homes for as long as possible. Unfortunately, the homes that they love are not fully equipped to meet their needs as they age. This course will discuss how designers can reimagine spaces in the home to accommodate the changing human body and the difficulties that come along with it. Specifically, participants will look at design solutions in the kitchen related to cabinetry.

Review the difference between ADA, Aging in Place, and Universal Design, and how these standards/principles can be used together.
Learn about research on the aging human body, its changes, and how this impacts home design.
Discover cabinet technology that helps create more accessible, functional kitchens.
