Course Description: CEU Events: Optimizing Water Efficiency in Multi-Family and Single-Family Homes
The green building movement has challenged manufacturers, design teams, and consumers to demand products and designs that have a minimal impact on the environment while contributing to the health and well-being of those who live in the space. This course will provide you with an overview of the business case surrounding green building for single family and multifamily homes, as well as outline the water efficiency criteria in several residential green certification programs, including LEED v4. We will also focus on plumbing fittings and fixtures that are aesthetically pleasing and have been thoughtfully designed to maximize indoor water use efficiency without sacrificing performance by the end-user.
Examine the water efficiency requirements outlined in various green building programs for homes, including contribution to LEED v4 standards for LEED v4 BD+C Homes and Multifamily Lowrise.
Discover approaches to improve resource conservation in both individual and multi-unit residential settings, with a particular emphasis on optimizing water usage in accordance with LEED v4 standards.
Understand the dynamics driving the green building movement for single family and multi-family residences.
Review examples of plumbing fixtures that enhance water efficiency and performance, and examine their contribution to Water Efficiency credits in LEED v4.
