  • Course description: CEU Events: Hardwood Flooring: Natural Beauty Meets Enduring Performance

Not all hardwood is created equal, and the differences go far deeper than aesthetics. This course explores how solid, engineered, infused, and densified hardwood construction methods influence flooring performance and long-term reliability. Participants will examine the key factors affecting durability, dimensional stability, moisture response, and installation outcomes, gaining the knowledge needed to specify the appropriate hardwood solution for any project.

Identify the manufacturing process and fundamental characteristics of solid hardwood flooring, including species, color, grain, grade, hardness, stains, and finishes.

Describe the structure and manufacturing process of engineered hardwood, highlighting how its construction supports stability and design flexibility across a range of applications.

Explain how resin-infused hardwood is manufactured, how it differs from traditional engineered hardwood, and how infusion technology enhances hardness, durability, and performance.

Evaluate the technology behind densified hardwood, which naturally increases dent resistance and durability using only heat and pressure (without plastic fillers or chemical additives), to close the open cells in hardwood.
