Course description: CEU Events: Flameless Roofing Solutions
With continued attention to open flames usage during roof construction, this presentation provides insights into several alternative flameless application methods for premium roofing systems. Attendees will learn basic chemistry and formulation for SBS-modified bitumen, PMMA, and STP that lead to long-term performance. Positives, challenges, and varied approaches to cold adhesive, self adhesive, and liquid applied solutions will be discussed in efforts to lessen or eliminate rooftop flame utilization.
Comprehend the basic chemistry involved in a modified bitumen blend.
Recognize the wide range of application options that are available for SBS-modified bitumen sheets and understand the strengths and weaknesses.
Gain an understanding of the various bonding substrate and selvage lap technologies with self-adhesive modified bitumen sheets.
