The presentation describes the requirements which must be satisfied for a product to meet the superior level of coating performance for this type of specification. Aluminum as a substrate was discussed; coating composition and integrity, exterior weatherability and general appearance were also addressed. Participants learn to compare AAMA 2600 specifications and learn why finishes fail.

Name at least three characteristics of aluminum as a building material. Describe why aluminum is considered a highly sustainable resource. Identify the differences between "good","better", and "best" in clad paint finish. Identify four ways that paint systems fail.
