EPIC Educational Program Innovations Center

EPIC Educational Program Innovations Center, founded 29 years ago, is a continuing education provider of engineering, technology and construction courses in Canada. EPIC is certified as an educational institution by Human Resourses and Skills Development Canada and is authorized by the Engineering Institute of Canada as a provider of CEUs. NOTE: Courses can be scheduled specifically for a group upon request and can be offered either online or in-person (covid permitting).   • Course Description: EPIC: Introduction to Wood Buildings Design

    ONLINE - TBD

    • Understand the physical and mechanical properties of wood and structural wood products

    • Understand the design procedures for wood structures and fire safety

    • Design different wood elements in accordance with provisions of CSA standards CAN/CSA O86-14: Axially Loaded Members, Flexural Members & Combined Axial and Flexural Members

    • Design wood connections

    • Understand different wood structural systems
