  • Course Description: AEC Daily: Architectural Design with Cast Stone

    Learners will receive information about cast stone and how it is made, testing requirements, applications, design recommendations and how it differs from related materials. Learners will describe appropriate specification, design details of cast stone for architectural applications and how to determine quality cast stone production. 

    Describe how architectural cast stone is produced and how its characteristics and performance differ from similar materials.

    List the durability requirements of cast stone as per ASTM requirements and the importance of the related performance testing.

    Understand best practices for cast stone design details.

    Recall the specification and standards documents required for cast stone design, fabrication and installation.
