AEC Daily is one of the largest providers of continuing education (CE) to the Construction, Architectural, Interior Design and Engineering communities.   • Course Description: AEC Daily: Acoustics and Noise Control in Building Design

    ONGOING - FREE - 1 HOUR

    In designing successful interior building spaces that positively impact their occupants, it is critical to have knowledge of the principles of acoustics and noise control and link them to design methodology. This course explores these principles, with a special emphasis on common building types where acoustics and noise control are often required and noise can have detrimental effects on users, such as athletic facilities and performance spaces.

    Learning Objective

    Demonstrate knowledge of basic acoustics principles, including absorption, reflection, and diffusion, their effect on interior spaces, and their impact on occupants.

    Describe noise control principles and how mass, airspace, and resilience can be used to control noise.

    Apply building code requirements for noise control and other recommendations for occupant acoustical comfort.

    Discuss how to use acoustic and noise control products successfully in building design and application, thereby improving occupant wellness.
