AEC Daily is one of the largest providers of continuing education (CE) to the Construction, Architectural, Interior Design and Engineering communities.     ONGOING - FREE - 1 HOUR

    Lighting controls allow homeowners to adjust lamps and light fixtures from anywhere in the home without special wiring or expensive master controllers. Lighting controls can be integrated into a home for single-room, multiroom, whole-house, or automated systems. This course discusses the role of lighting in design and occupant comfort and then outlines how lighting controls can benefit occupant behavior, health, and productivity and the appeal and performance of the home, especially regarding energy efficiency.

    Recall the different forms, types, and sources of light, as well as the qualities of lighting that play an essential role in design and function when designing residential lighting schemes.

    Identify the various types, technologies, and design options available for lighting controls when determining the appropriate approach to residential lighting control.

    Determine how various controls might benefit home performance and occupant behavior, health, and productivity.

    Specify the installation of lighting controls for single-room, multiroom, whole-house, or automated systems.

    Utilize lighting controls to improve energy efficiency and contribute to sustainability goals.
