Course Description: AEC Daily: Waterproofing Matters: Moisture Protection and Drainage Solutions
This course examines moisture control in wet-area assemblies, with emphasis on waterproofing materials, drainage components, and the details that connect them to surrounding construction. It explains how water moves through building assemblies and how waterproofing and drainage help protect materials that can be damaged by prolonged exposure. The course reviews the standards and testing methods used to evaluate performance and highlights detailing practices that help reduce the risk of leaks, mold growth, structural deterioration, and interior damage that can affect occupant health, safety, and welfare.

Describe how waterproofing systems are used in interior and exterior applications to protect building materials from moisture damage and help prevent conditions that can affect occupant health and well-being.
