  • Course Description: Ron Blank & Associates: Steel Doors and Frames 101

    This course provides an in-depth exploration of steel doors and frames. We will cover essential door terminology and nomenclature, ensuring a strong foundational understanding. From there, we will dive into critical aspects such as fire ratings, door cores, and performance levels. In addition, we will examine frame nomenclature, different frame types, anchoring methods, and elevation considerations. A key component will be analyzing the physical performance of steel doors in demanding conditions, including fire resistance, windstorm durability, blast and bullet resistance, energy efficiency, and sound control. Finally, we will discuss the most important factors to consider when specifying steel doors and frames. By the end of the course, participants will understand why architects and design professionals consistently choose steel doors and frames for their construction projects.
