AEC Daily is one of the largest providers of continuing education (CE) to the Construction, Architectural, Interior Design and Engineering communities.   • Course Description: AEC Daily: Contemporary Certified Solid Surfaces

    A number of third-party entities have certified the sustainable attributes of solid surfaces. This course explores those green product certifications in relation to the characteristics of 100% acrylic solid surfaces. It includes an overview of current manufacturing, fabrication, and thermoforming processes, the aesthetics, and the many possible applications and design opportunities for solid surfaces.

    Utilize the information from green building certification programs to inform acrylic solid surface specifications.

    Discuss the use of solid surfaces in the design of healthy and appealing contemporary interiors.

    Recall the green features, aesthetics, and performance characteristics of solid acrylic when selecting surface finish materials.

    Discuss the creation of hygienic healthcare facility walls and furniture, including countertops and other horizontal surfaces, using solid surface material.

    Review the potential contributions of solid surfaces toward achieving green building credits and certification.
