AEC Daily is one of the largest providers of continuing education (CE) to the Construction, Architectural, Interior Design and Engineering communities.     Redwood lumber and timbers from sustainably managed and harvested forests offer warmth, durability, and strength in indoor and outdoor projects. This course covers the performance characteristics, environmental benefits, and applications of Redwood, including several case studies that highlight the beauty and versatility of Redwood products. Details are presented on differentiating the grades of Redwood, specifying the right grade for the project type, and the specification resources that are available.

    Define the modern forestry practices that contribute to Redwood’s long-term sustainability and how certification to Forest Stewardship Council® standards ensures that Redwood forests are well managed.

    Discuss how Redwood supports the 2030 Challenge and contributes to biophilic design and LEED® v4 BD+C, ID+C and SITES® v2 credits.

    Explain the results of an updated life cycle assessment (LCA) study and environmental product declaration (EPD) for Redwood lumber and their relevance to sustainable building practices.
