AEC Daily Corporation

AEC Daily is one of the largest providers of continuing education (CE) to the Construction, Architectural, Interior Design and Engineering communities. Complimentary courses are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with automated credit reporting to numerous organizations across the United States and Canada.   • Course Description: Responsibility of Design: Responding to Global Megatrends Through Sustainable Product Specification

    Megatrends are long-term global trends that impact societies in complex ways, including the design of the built environment. This course examines seven megatrends and how they may inspire kitchen and bath designers to create accessible, diverse, and sustainable solutions to our society's social and environmental issues.

    Describe seven global megatrends that impact the design of the built environment, including health and wellness, the circular economy, green building initiatives, and climate change and sustainability.

    Explain how architecture and design professionals can lean into and address these megatrends through their design practices.

    Describe how architects and designers can use their practices to influence end user behaviors to improve their well-being, avoid greenwashing, and reduce the environmental impact of kitchen and bath projects.

    Apply knowledge of these megatrends to create more sustainable product specifications.
